After months of backpain, I finally decided to do an MRI scan and this showed two hernias at the lower back of which one “enormous”. Surgery was needed and it couldn’t wait much longer, because there was a floating component (a piece of the bulge broke off). So tuesday the 11th of October, Dr. Dua of the Middelheim hospital in Antwerp performed the surgery himself. Right now, I’m still recovering in the hospital. Here are a few ambiance images I shot with my Nokia phone.

Here you can see my Hernia. Because it was so large, Dr. Dua decided to give it to me as a souvenir.

At last … I finally got around to scanning all my slides from our big trip to India.
Let me give you a little background info. When I met Kathy in the beginning of 2003, I was doing a small project in Brussels. Just before the contract ended (somewhere in May) one of the other consultants told me about doing a Microsoft bootcamp in India. I did some reading about it and I started to feel the travel-bug bite. The contract was going to end in four days, but after this, I only had two days left to get to Delhi before the start of the bootcamp. I did a quick phone-call to Kathy and she started with all the necessary preparations and procedures (visa, travel-pass, flight tickets, travel stuff, contacting family, etc, etc). Time was of the essence because we had to leave at the end of the week! We couldn’t forget anything considering we were planning to stay in India for almost 4 months. Finally we managed (especially Kathy cause I still had to work) to get all things done and left, for what was going to be, one cool experience, because believe it or not, we even had an encounter with the Dalai Lama himself!
For the readers who understand Dutch and are interested in travelling to India (it’s one of the most beautiful and intriguing countries in the world), here is my personal journal of the entire trip.Okay, enough talk, let’s get to the pictures already! So turn on the sound and choose your flavour: City People, Mountain People or Desert People.
