You might want to ring their bell again... and tell them they have a poisonous mushroom in their yard... and even after that "fruiting body" is gone the mushroom will remain underground and fruit again. That's Amanita muscaria and very poisonous... never seen one curled up like that though.

Thanks for the info Blackriver Images, that's why I like Flickr, sometimes you learn more about your own photos. :) I don't see them in their yard often and they don't have any kids, so I don't think it's a problem. And I suppose cats and dogs won't lick a poisonous mushroom?

I love the story behind this shot and it's nice to know I'm not the only one that ventures into peoples back yards wanting to shoot something they have seen. :)



The clarity and light is fantastic and that is a really amazing looking mushroom. I like now that it's captured in time forever. Bravo to you, and it was worth all that effort!

Well, I was breathless just by looking at this image. The light, composition, angle, color, DOF, everything seems just perfect. I cannot stop looking at it! And yet, it's just a mushroom. I think I've said everything. It's very easy to make a fantastic picture of a dreamy landscape. But you make a breathtaking image of a mushroom, then you are a great photographer.
