What a great candid, good choice of B&W , the tonal contrast is spot on.

Sorry to disappoint you carlosgchen, but i have no consistent and documented 'workflow'; in other words: i don't know exactly how i did this, it's all chaos and intuition when i'm processing pictures :)
i did work a lot here with curves... lot's of experimenting with curves! And of course a boost in contrast, together with dodge&burn, which was pretty important in this case. I hope this is of some help to you.
i should document more i guess :)
thanks for the info!! i guess i'll have to start experimenting with photoshop stuff.. i've tried using levels, channels, etc.. but i just wanted to try all the methods and see which one yields better results..
Perfect black and white, great great composition, I love the deep of shadows.
Congratulations!, great job!

what a pitty about the car on the right photo :P great composition
I had already seen this pic, but it's only now that it really strikes me.
The diptych is very original, normally the two shots are from a similar standpoint while here it's entirely different but enhances the 'story' quite a lot.
Secondly, the b&w is as already said very good.
Thirdly, the whole scene just fits...the little girl, the boat, the man and woman relaxing with a beer, the "older" guy entering the boat, the reflection in the water...
all in all... a fav
Always used to get some astonishing pictures here, that i would almost forget that you also have a normal life with normal friends and family. This picture is so down to earth and yet a real moment in simple life...
Didn't knew you took your parents with ya to sicily; maybe i should consider doing the same before it's too late...
About taking my parents with me: it's actually only my father. My mother doesn't like to travel and my father is very passionate about it. So every year, me and dad go away for one or two weeks to a warm place or an island somewhere in or around Europe. That's why he's looking so natural and relaxed, he's quite used to the fact that i'm shooting all the time. :)
This is a great environmental portrait. A very simple setting full of life and simplicity. Very well done, Kris.
Thank you for the comment on my wedding work, sorry about the having to create a Google account to do so.
But, I have an internet stalker that loves to berate me. I have no problem with constructive criticism, but this individual was making some very serious threats towards me and I have had to take measures as to protect myself as far as allowing anyone to comment.
Sorry for the inconvenience, I hope this doesn't keep you from visiting.
