As you can see, this is a bit of an experiment. 'Complete failure' or 'not that bad'? Let me know your opinion. I'm curious! :-)
What do you think of "painting of a beach"?

I really love this toy camera - feeling of this picture... Nice work!

That big white on the bottom can be described as a failure... but the whole looks like a frame from a Boards Of Canada video. It also has this 1970's kind of look and mood. Love it.

I think the technique itself is really creative, but would perhaps be better flaunted on a different shot.

Willing to share how it's done? :)

Great effect -- really looks like holidays 'souvenirs'-- so to me it's definetly better than 'not that bad' ;-))

    I like it. I'd call it Minimalistic post-impressionism :)

hmm, at the begninning I sort of dismissed ths photo, but after looking at it a couple mroe times I grew to like it. it has a good feeling of beach andgreat colout combination. was it all done through photoshop or was it a camera effect??

It's blurry, it's grainy, it's nostalgic...I LOVE it, I think its brilliant...the only thing is the sand is too bright, perhaps if there were less of that in the foreground? You must share how you did this, I really love it!

This is how I see the beach without my glasses on and most of the time I prefer this view. Really soft and lovely, like I'm lying on the sand in one of those moments between sleep and being awake. Very peaceful.

pecullar processing if you ask me, but i won't say it's a total failure, not at all! Indeed somethin gout of the ordinary, but it was definitely worth the try; worked out fine compared to the firstone you posted from this Galician beach..

I get the impression that your new job gives you some more free time, is it? and i guess you won't be having any cold turkey from the work-traffic ? ;-)

Thanks everyone! I wasn't sure if i should post this one, so it's great to read all these comments. The first version of the same beach, Flawijn is referring to, can be found here:

@ Flawijn: yeah man, i must admit it's great coming home from work after a short 10 minute drive :-)

Reminds me of one of my earliest shots taken many years ago, in the early '80s. Nice one!
